Outdoor learning opportunities for schools & educators
Project Rewild is leading the way in offering alternative outdoor learning opportunities and training for students and school staff.
As part of our Rewilding Education programme, we are creating innovative nature-based learning methods which offer schools the opportunity to improve the health, happiness and wellbeing of their students and in turn improve attendance and academic outcomes.

Go green!
We all know we need to do more to protect our environment. Schools now have a wonderful opportunity to educate and empower their students to live in a more sustainable and healthy way.
Project Rewild can support schools to Go Green. Plant more trees, grow food, develop bio diverse habitats, create outdoor learning spaces and help children and staff to feel more connected to their outdoor school spaces.
Permaculture
We are now creating permaculture allotments in schools across Hastings and St Leonards. Teaching children how to grow healthy food in a sustainable way which is beneficial to themselves and the natural world. We aim to reach as many children as possible.
Permaculture is an innovative framework for creating sustainable ways of living.
It is a practical method of developing ecologically harmonious, efficient and productive systems that can be used by anyone, anywhere. More information can be found here: What is Permaculture?
Get growing in schools
Spending time outside growing food improves physical and mental health in young people. Understanding where our food comes from and how to grow fresh healthy food is more important at this time than ever before.
We can create permaculture allotments anywhere on school grounds and work with children to maintain these spaces, grow food and cook healthy meals. We can train staff on how to maintain and reap the benefits of school growing spaces for years to come.
Alternative Provision.
Our Rewild sessions have been developed to engage harder to reach students who may be struggling with emotional and behavioural challenges in school.
Our approach is to create positive and trusting relationships with young people in nature so we can empower them to push their own physical and emotional capabilities. We cover a huge range of hands on practical outdoor work and challenges. We also work on a range of reflective practices designed to improve emotional intelligence and wellbeing.
Feedback from participants in the 2021/22 school year show that regular sessions have improved children’s attendance, improved metal health and wellbeing, improved communication skills, improved relationships with students and adults, and helped children to enjoy school more.
