We are so lucky to have Project Rewild in our town. My children always come home tired, muddy and full of magical stories of their adventures. This is what all children should be doing

Free opportunities for children and families across Hastings and St Leonards to get outside and enjoy their local natural spaces.

Project Rewild is a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) committed to making our work accessible to everyone in our local communities.

Rewild Hastings is an exciting community campaign run by Project Rewild, delivering free opportunities for children and families to spend time outdoors and connect with nature close to home.

We work with a range of funders, housing associations and community partners to make this possible. All of our events and groups are completely free and open to everyone. By bringing high-quality outdoor experiences directly into our neighbourhoods, we’re helping more people across Hastings build a lasting connection with the natural world.

Get ’Em Outside Again

Children need to be outside to play, socialise, learn and grow.
To build resilience, strength, dexterity and balance.
To develop strong immune systems, move naturally, stay fit and have fun.

At Project Rewild, we believe this is every child’s birthright.
In a world filled with screens and overstimulation, we give children in our town the chance to reconnect with nature, with each other and with themselves.

We create space for children to explore freely, to climb, dig, splash, roll and tumble.
To discover confidence, curiosity and a sense of belonging in the wild places around them.

Together, we are helping Hastings’ children grow up connected to the land, the sea and the wild heart of their home.

Our Town

Hastings, St Leonards and the surrounding area are rich in natural beauty. We are lucky to live in one of the most stunning parts of the world, blessed with an incredible variety of outdoor spaces to explore and enjoy.

We have it all; captivating beaches and sea, rolling hills, dramatic cliffs, marvellous marshes, enchanting woodlands, pretty parks and green spaces scattered throughout the town.

We work in all of these spectacular places, as well as in smaller pockets of green space within housing estates and neighbourhoods across Hastings.

Our town’s natural spaces are amazing. Let’s get outside, enjoy them, love them, learn from them and protect them.

Can’t imagine Hastings life without Rewild. First thing I ever dropped my son off at… he loves the energy and all-weather adventures. Big respect to the highly experienced team and what they offer to local children.

The good ole’ days

We’ve all heard it a million times:

“When I was a kid, we played outside all day, we never wanted to be indoors.”
It’s something most of us remember, and something every generation says with a smile

We all remember when the streets, woods and beaches were full of children playing.
Days spent climbing trees, building dens and getting muddy felt free, wild and full of life.

That spirit hasn’t gone, it’s just waiting to be reawakened.

Project Rewild is bringing it back, helping Hastings’ children grow up outdoors again, exploring, laughing and discovering the wild spaces that surround them.

Together, we’re rewilding childhood in our town.
