REWILD mentor & forest school leader.
I’m a Level Three Forest School teacher and have worked with groups of young people in Sussex for almost ten years. I live with my family within the High Weald AONB in an ancient crumbling house surrounded by sprawling oak trees and far too many pheasants…
Monday is without doubt, my favourite day of the week! A time where we escape from the world and become part of something special. Working alongside Luke, Polly and Mark is a real privilege. As practitioners, our individual teaching approaches, skill sets and life experiences create an environment where children feel at ease, ready to challenge themselves and participate in the day’s activities. I often bring my art, craft and cooking interests into the wood and combine these with our nature based studies. Learning is an alchemistic process where sparks are ignited from the very simplest of things be it a hazel stick, an acorn, a rowan berry, a deer skull or even a ball of bright orange iron clay!
At Project Rewild we learn and play together in equal measure. We share skills and knowledge, connect with our woodland surroundings, with the traditions of the past and with each other to build a nurturing community where time stands still and experiences last forever.
